I am trying to push down the last entry :) I know it can be kind of gross to look at the one picture of Aaron pointing at his potty, but I don't want to erase it since this blog is mostly for me and these are great memories to keep. So this week has been kind of weird with lots of ups and downs for me. On the weekend I was able to complete two things that were important for me. One is the entry way in house, since we got rid of the extra set of couches we have had the kids just throw their backpacks and their coats on the floor, there was no other place for them to put them. It has been driving me crazy for a long time, basically since we moved in, the one piece of furniture that I want is perfect for that spot, but I am saving my money for it, and a table, so I know I need to wait but the problem was resolved by getting this very inexpensive storage cabinet that has 4 compartments and the each kid gets one (Titi and Aaron share one), even I get one. They can put their backpacks and shoes in there when they get back from school. I also got hooks to hang their coats on the wall. All this stuff can be easily removed when I get what I want the storage cabinet can go somewhere else, so I am not wasting any money. To make it look pretty I added some flowers, a picture frame, the word welcome (it will get painted black) and a candle.
Storage cabinet $45.00
Decorations and accessories $ 3.00
Piece of mind for knowing that the mess is taken care of...... priceless

We also got a new toddler bed for Aaron and Walmart now has a cheaper, good looking one, so Aaron, Dan and me were really excited about it. He has been sleeping on it just fine... until Victor had the craziest idea of jumping on it. The one thing that got me really upset was that he lied to me, he told me that he saw baby jumping on his bed and then it broke. Of course after looking at the bed I quickly realized he had done it, he kept lying until I threatened he would sleep out on the street if he didn't tell me the truth (I know that was a little mean). I was so disappointed with him and sent him to the guest room for a long time so that I could calm down, it took me hours. The bed will get repaired, hopefully and as of now, Victor wont have a Birthday party, but we will see.
Shayna has been really good lately and she has been doing a lot of extra work around the house, she doesn't complaint about it and most of the time she is doing it without being asked. She was doing so great that I thought it was time for her to get paid for some of the stuff she does. I am strongly against giving my kids an allowance, I never had one and I grew up just fine knowing that my mom was taking care of us and when money is an issue you understand it and deal with it. I worked for what I wanted and it felt great. I want my kids to learn that as well, so Shayna is old enough to start saving money and take on more responsibilities. She got her first dollar last week and she loved it. She is working hard for this week too. Chores include, sweeping the kitchen floor, taking the trash out, getting laundry for me, putting away groceries and things like that. Making her bed and cleaning her room is not part of the deal.
Frustrating with the kids School because they don't have a Gifted and Talented program as they had offered me before. Talking to the counselor is a nightmare and I know she does not care about the situation. Shayna scored really high on the tests that took like 6 hours all together, there is no point in taking the test if they wont help her achieve her potential, the teacher is trying to find out a way for Shayna to get some more advanced work, but we will see how that goes.
I went to a get to know the sisters kind of thing at church and I was hoping to get to know more people, but somehow I don't think anybody is interested in meeting me, I ended up sitting with same people, even when I tried to sit at a different table every time. Oh well, I just hate it when people completely ignore me, specially if I am the only other person standing or sitting right next to them. I ended up talking to my friend Lucrecia (also Hispanic) and the good thing is that she discovered I do cakes and she is really interested in learning how to decorate cakes, we are going out for lunch next week and then stop by my house to look at my cake portfolio (that sounds so professional).
So as you can see I am in a funky mode, but all is well, is just little things.
