The latest

I feel like a brand new first time mom, is that ridiculous or what?  This new adventure has been a roller coaster ride (as with everything else in my life) but I am still excited about our brand new baby.  Kahlan is so cute and adorable I just want to kiss her all day long and hope that she can stay this way forever but sadly she has already grown a little bit and is now a month old.  Wow, that was fast.  I am sitting here tipping with one hand and hoping I can post this before the kids come home.  Life has changed for me in a big way, everything I thought was going to be easy is not, like taking advantage of the kids being at school doesn't really help because seriously it takes more than half an hour to feed her and then I have to run and get the kids from school, get home, feed her again and leave again for school, feed her again (yes she eats that much) and then go back to school.... it is the never ending story.  I still have to figure out when to fit in my usual stuff like doing dishes and vacuuming, the one thing I have been on top of is the laundry, it does not get put away every time but at least there are lots of baskets of clean laundry somewhere in the house.
I also have to find the time to talk and play with Aaron and Tristan since they are the ones that spend more time with me by themselves and can't be ignored.
I am sure that life will get easier as time goes by but for now I am just dedicating myself to this wonderful baby that deserves all my attention.
We did manage to go on a field trip as a family, Aaron's school went to the Houston Aquarium and all the families of the PK kids were invited to come, we got discounted tickets and enjoyed a fun hour and a half of walking around and looking at fish and had a little picnic there.  Kahlan did great the entire time, she was mostly asleep.
Victor has been busy working on getting his Wolf badge and he finally is ready to get it this coming Friday.  One of the big projects we worked on was making a bird house, he learned to use a real screwdriver and a drill, he was very excited about using a power tool.  He did a great job ( no picture yet )  We also went out in the neighborhood with the kids to look for trash and cleaned up a couple of blocks on the way to the park, this was also part of the requirements for scouts.  We are planning on doing that again some time, it is amazing how much trash is out there.
Victor is currently working on a cake for the Blue and Gold banquet they are having on Friday and he came up with his own design, we will take pictures when it is all done.
Shayna auditioned for a special choir they have for 5th graders in the area and out of 200 kids, she was one of 100 kids that got chosen to be part of.  Dan and her are really excited about it and have been going to rehearsals on Mondays.  She is also participating in a special program after school "Ecobots" and they are having a competition soon.  She is hoping her team will win because if they do they will go to the Houston University and compete against all the schools in the district.

Waiting to get in the aquarium
 My husband and kids :)
This is my version of the famous Moby wrap, it works out perfectly.
 Older brother and sister.

 Proud mom and baby
Here is my little baby chewing on her hands, her favorite pastime when not eating.
One of the exciting things that we got to do this week was to attend the parent orientation night at the middle school since Shayna will be starting 6th grade next year.  She has already started to show interest in joining the band at school and says that she wants to play the saxophone, that means we will have to buy one for her but she might change her mind so who knows.
That is all the updates I think of now and I must say that it seems that since Kahlan was born our weeks have gone by so quick because there was always 3  or more things to do with the kids (church and school things) during the week.  I hope we can slow down at some point...  yeah right.

Kahlan at 2 weeks

She is so pretty, smells so good and loves being held all the time.  Daddy loves her, Tristan is in love with her, Aaron kisses her every once in a while, Shayna adores her and I just can't get enough of her.

I was able to get these cute pictures of her today before she started to cry.  We lover her so much.
