11th day of Thanks

Every Tuesday (except when we are under the weather) my sister in law Amber and me get together to work on some projects, we have done capes, hair clips for our girls, worked on our costumes for Halloween and many other things. I enjoy it when we get together and gossip a little bit, laugh, cry and share quiet moments. It is nice to have somebody that shares the love for sewing and that can teach me a few tricks. I did not want to do it this week, but I need distraction so it was very good to have some adult conversation and enjoy about 4 hours of talking, sewing and a yummy lunch. Hopefully we can keep this up for a long time. I am thankful for the company she provided for me today and for listening to me. Thanks Amber.

10th day of thanks

I am grateful for the time I get to spend with my sweet little boy Aaron. It is so special to know that he enjoys it as well and we can relax on the couch reading his favorite books or watch cartoons on TV until either one of us falls asleep. I was able to do this with Shayna and I missed it so much with my other two, but now that they go to school Aaron is the lucky one. We go out sometimes and enjoy shopping or just walk the mall or play at the park, but my favorite thing is to just sit there with him and have one on one time.
These days will go away so quickly and before I know it he will also be gone to school and then it will be me all alone.

Day of thanks # 9

Today I feel very grateful that Shayna is able to take piano lessons and learn to do something I don't know how to. She is doing really well (based on what her aunt Amber and Dan tell me). She is so quick to learn and does not seem to have a hard time with the lessons. She is so blessed to have the chance to do this and hope that if she doesn't appreciate it now she will in the future and will thank me for taking her every Monday and her aunt for teaching her.

Day of thanks # 7 and # 8

*I am thankful for my sewing machine and the cool things I get to do with it. I never thought that a sewing machine could give you a sense of power and accomplish more things that you thought capable of.

*I am thankful for my car. I come from a country where people do have cars but the easiest way to get places is taking the bus or walking (I guess that is why I used to be skinnier back then). I did not learn how to drive a car until the age of 25 or 26 and if felt great driving my first car, a blue minivan, which I drove over the curve and wrecked the transmission. Getting that car gave me freedom and I knew that not having a car again would be just devastating. My second minivan was also great and drove it for 3 years and then got rid of it before we moved to Texas. 8 months without a car was more than enough and I am extremely grateful for finding my third minivan. It might not be brand new and have all the cool features every one's car has but I love it and as long as it runs it will be my faithful companion :)

Day of thanks # 6

I was just thinking how special it is to know that you can count on people for special situations. This week one of my Facebook friends had a story on her status about a little boy who is in the last stages of cancer and how his family is planning on celebrating Christmas on the 8th of November, the only thing he wanted was to get Christmas cards. So they were asking for people to send one to him in the mail. I jumped right on that idea and then passed along on my own wall on Facebook hoping that somebody else would do the same and form a chain. I am not the kind of people that likes to keep the chains going on, that is kind of annoying but this was a special situation, I got a couple of responses on it and that made me really happy. I hope that little boy gets tons and tons of cards and can feel the love that is coming from all the people that sent them. So today I am really thankful for everybody coming together and doing something nice for somebody that we don't know but we feel a connection with now, I know these cards and pictures that kids will be sending as simple as they are will make him the happiest year old out there.

Day 5 Very thankful!!

My day was kind of hard today, I will spare you the details but I do feel grateful for an amazing experience I had today. I was feeling down and really depressed, in pain, sad and confused when I got a call from dear sister in law Lisa, I was able to release my thoughts and let her know how I felt. After talking to her for a while the sister missionaries from our new ward knocked at my door, I didn't know they were coming, I am not sure why they were there but when I opened the door they could see that I was having a hard time. They came and shared a message with me and it was just really weird to be sitting there and crying and I know it was weird for them too, not knowing what was going on with me. At the end I was able to talk to them an explain a little bit of my struggles today and then they understood. The message was just what I needed, a message of faith and message to remind me that I am not alone and that my Heavenly Father is there for me no matter what and even when it seems like he is not. I have not lost my faith but it was getting weaker during this last few weeks. The missionaries and I felt the spirit during their visit and I instantly felt better when they were done, we don't know each other but we cried together today and even if they didn't know why they were sent to my house today, they did their job and made me feel better. So today I am thankful for my Heavenly Father and his love he has for me and for the way he delivers messages to his children, for the missionaries that are out there helping not only the lost souls but also the ones that are part of this big family but need a little push or a simple message to lift you up.
P.S. Also thankful for you Lisa, you are the best and I am so glad we are sisters :)

Day 4

Today I am thankful for Ibuprofen and Codeine because they take the pain away, although they make me feel like I am floating and kind of dizzy, I rather feel dizzy than being in pain.
