Aaron is fine

On Monday I took baby Aaron back to the lab so they could do the test again, after having trouble with the lab people because of paperwork and stuff, they finally took some blood but told me it wasn't enough. It is amazing how some people really don't care about what you are going through, it makes me really mad how they can be so cold. The lab person had to poke him twice :( my poor baby cried and cried. Then I had to hurry home so Dan could go to work. The results came back that same day in the afternoon. His billirubin levels went down to 4.1 and the doctor said he was fine. And actually he looks so much whiter now. We are all happy and not stressed out anymore about the whole thing. This was the first time I had to go through something like that. He ate during the weekend but he didn't like it, now he is so much happier and I am not trying formula again.
Somehow breast milk has something that doesn't let the yellow stuff disappear so that is why when they are newborns and they have jaundice they tell you to stop breastfeeding for a couple of days, that usually does it.
So here is a picture of him smiling. He is such a cute little guy. He loves to smile, he talks a lot and he is very alert.
Anyway, I will post more pictures next week after Christmas.

Christmas Tradition

Today was a good day. We went out early in the morning with all the kids to an outlet mall in Sandy. It was supposed to be fun but the kids always go crazy. So Dan could not enjoy his time at his favorite store and we ended up driving all over the place looking for a place to stop and walk but we did not find anything. All the malls were full of people and Dan just hates crowded places. Finally we decided to come home and watch movies, one for the parents and one for the kids (Lady in the Lake and Super Girl).
Later in the evening we went out again, but this time was fun. One of our Christmas traditions is to go drive around and look at the houses decorated with Christmas lights. The kids love doing that, but this year we decided to add something new. We looked for the houses with the best decorations and gave them a little trophy and prize and a note written by Shayna that said: "You won! your lights are the best in your neighborhood! We only had six but it took a long time to give them away. Dan does not like the inflatable stuff, one is OK, but here in Utah everybody has like 3 or more in their front lawn. There was a house with like 6 or 7 of them. Anyway, Shayna and I got out of the car gave them their trophy and prize ( a candy bar). They thought it was really sweet and thanked us for it. Shayna liked it and I think we will keep doing it from now on and look for different neighborhoods. We all had fun and nobody fell asleep except for baby Aaron.
My poor baby is suffering now, his eyes are still a little bit yellow and they did some blood work to see what the levels were on the bil. and it came back high for his age. The doctor said it was a 7 and told me to stop breastfeeding him during the weekend and then take him back for more blood work and see what the results are. Hopefully everything is OK and we can go back to our normal routine. Otherwise more tests will be required. I am really scared since this has not happened before and I am thinking the worst. I have been praying for him and really pushing it with the formula since he does not like the bottle but I found that if I get the playtex stuff he likes it better since the nipples are way softer than the regular ones. He has been eating well but I know he hates it. Still he is happy when he is awake, smiles a lot and we just adore him.
On his 2 month check up he measured 24 inches long and his weight is at 12.6 lbs. He has been growing a lot. so I guess this is my update before Christmas.

DECEMBER IS HERE

I just can't believe that we are so close to end this year. We had so much stuff going on this year that it went by very quickly. Shayna's soccer games on Saturdays, our little trips to the concerts and the park in Salt Lake City, Jones Family Reunion and going camping. It has been really fun. All these stuff reminds me I have to write a family Christmas letter, but first I need to have our pictures taken. My friend Katie is going to do it for me and then I can mail the letters hopefully in time before Christmas.
The kids are so excited about their presents, specially because Dan decided to put them under the tree already and that is a challenge for me. I have to keep Titi away from the tree and presents. He loves to stand on them :)
Aaron is still growing and sleeping most of the day but he coos and smiles at me when he is awake. He is so cute. Victor is doing so much better with his ABC and numbers, he can write from 1 to 12 and count to 40. He can write the whole alphabet by himself. Anyway, I had some time and decided to write a little bit.

CUTE CUTE

I think they like each other :)

No sleep

Last night was one of the hardest ones since Aaron came home. He has some gas problems or something but he would not go to sleep. I tried to feed him and he wouldn't eat. I rocked him, talked to him, sang to him, changed his diaper. NOTHING WORKED. then two and a half hours later he fell asleep. Poor thing I didn't know what to do with him. Then I could not go to sleep for some reason, thinking about him, if he was going to sleep for a long time or not, etc. I finally fell asleep and at 2 am Shayna woke up asking for a drink of water. At 3 am Victor woke up and told me there was something on his bed. I checked it out and what happened is that he threw up all over his bed (upper bunk bed) and down the wall onto Tristan's bed. So I started cleaning up the whole mess trying not to wake Tristan up or anybody else. I took everything to the washer and did some unexpected laundry :)
Finally Victor ended up sleeping on he floor just in case he had to throw up again which he did, ALL OVER HIMSELF. I decided I wasn't going to be cleaning a stinky carpet today so I took him in the dining room and let him sleep on a blow up mattress and left him his throw up bucket by his side in case he had to throw up again (which he did). I did laundry again and he finally fell asleep. No throw up so far this morning. I stayed awake until it was time for Dan to go to work (4:30) and then he told me to go back to bed and try to sleep some. Aaron didn't wake up the entire time Victor was throwing up and I was cleaning, so it seemed like a good idea. But it didn't happen I could not stop thinking and turning and tossing. IT WAS HORRIBLE. I decided to get Aaron and feed him some in bed so that I could sleep with him, but he is too noisy so after feeding him I put him back in his bed. So by 6 am I finally fell asleep and the alarm woke me up at 7:30. Just in time to get Shayna dressed and feed to go to school. Doesn't it sound lovely?
If somebody had told me 7 year ago that this is what life was going to be like for me I would not have believed them. It is just unbelievable all the things we go thorough as parents. Some times I think it is too much and I can't handle it, but others I am amazed that I have the strength to do it. But in the end I love my kids to death and I am grateful to me their mom and to know that some day they will appreciate the sleepless nights they give me :)

My First Post

Well I am following Lisa's example and now I have my own blogger. Basically I did it so that I can keep track of what is going on in my life. I am so busy lately that I think this blog will help me write down at least just a little bit of what happens in a day or a week. Plus I'll post my pictures. I am really excited. I just have to let people know about it. Wish me luck.
